🧠 Topics Covered During the Training:
1. 📖 Introduction to BEmONC and maternal health priorities
2. 🩸 Active management of the third stage of labor (AMTSL) and postpartum hemorrhage
3. 👶 Neonatal resuscitation and immediate newborn care
4. 💉 Management of pre-eclampsia/eclampsia and safe administration of medications
5. 🆘 Recognition and referral of obstetric complications
6. 🛏️ Infection prevention and essential postnatal care
7. 🗂️ Recordkeeping, reporting, and use of referral forms
8. 👥 Team coordination in emergency response
9. 🎯 Role-playing, clinical drills, and group work on decision-making in emergencies
✅ Impact by the End of the Training:
- All 15 participants demonstrated improved knowledge and confidence in managing obstetric and neonatal emergencies.
- Clinical simulations showed a 70% increase in readiness to respond to real-life emergencies.
- Trainees developed individualized action plans for applying BEmONC protocols in their respective health facilities.
- Strengthened referral linkages and documentation practices among the trained staff.
- Enhanced gender representation and empowerment, with 80% of participants being women.
This training marks a major step in improving maternal and newborn health outcomes in Baidoa through strengthened frontline capacity.
